DIGITAL DESIGNER SMILE MAKEOVER IN MALAYSIA
A Smile Makeover is the combination of dental treatments to achieve the end result you are looking for. It may include Dental Veneers, Dental Crowns, Dental Implants, Teeth Whitening, Root Canal Treatment according to your teeth current situation and the final result.
Digital impressions are currently revolutionising the way dentists create dental restorations for patients. A digital impression is a virtual scan that creates a map of your teeth. By using lasers and other optical scanning devices, dentists can create a virtual, computer generated model of the hard and soft tissues in the mouth. This digital model allows dentists to view patient’s teeth on a computer screen rather than using a mirror, taking a mold, or looking at an X-ray, which are the traditional methods. After an impression is taken, a dentist can immediately send the digital impression to the internal lab where dentures, crowns, bridges, and other restoration models can be made quickly and accurately.
Digital Dentistry – Forget everything you thought you knew about dental impressions. Using the latest state-of-the-a digital oral scanners, our Malaysian Dentist is able to take a digital impression of your teeth with one quick and easy scan, avoiding the need for the gooey, uncomfortable traditional impressions. Discover wants involved in the making of your digital smile makeover.
The digital scan is more efficient and results in a more accurate restoration, making you dental experience that much better and ensuring the exceptional level of care that our patients expect from our Malaysian dentist.
A nice way to think about is if you compared the difference between traditional and digital crowns to copying music on old cassette tapes to making digital copies of an MP3 music file. When you copy an analogue cassette tape, the sound quality gets poorer and poorer, but when you copy a digital music file the sound quality remains excellent no matter how many times it is copied.
We asked the Dental Surgeon to explain some key features of digital crowns:
MINIMAL TEETH FILLING : Most of the natural tooth is retained, no longer are teeth filled down to pins, the Zirconia Crowns made from 3D modelling are so accurate the CROWN fits over your tooth like a three–dimensional jigsaw piece with a maximum of just 1 millimetre of your tooth filled down for your beautiful new zirconia crown.
ZIRCONIA : The dentist is very sure when it comes to the best material for crowns is German Zirconia for the most natural looking and strong robust crowns. Traditional crowns use a metal tooth body layer with porcelain outer layer and need to be trimmed down all the way to a pin to then cover the tooth with metal for porcelain fused metal. Meaning the majority of that tooth is the synthetic crown and not your own natural tooth. The big difference with the Digital Dental modelling and our Malaysian dentist following the new trends in density in Europe and USA – teeth only need to be minimally trimmed to a maximum of a 1 millimetre. It’s now all about having the natural tooth as the majority of the base for the crown makes a big difference to your overall results.
TEMPORARY CROWNS : You will not be left to walk around with no teeth while your crowns are being prepared. Your temporary crowns look great so no one will notice you are getting any work done and importantly they are created from the 3D model to give you a vital test drive to check the final look, before fitting your permanent crowns.Digital dentist Malaysia
Discover exactly what’s involved
The making of a digital
SMILE MAKEOVER in Malaysia.
FIRST VISIT : 3D DENTAL MODELLING AND DESIGN
The digital dentist will check your suitability for a SMILE MAKEOVER with OPG Xray/ CT scan, if everything looks healthy, he will start the smile makeover by using a 3D scanner to accurately model of your teeth.
SECOND VISIT: DIGITAL DENTAL MODELLING AND CRAFTING.
A clear aligner is created from the 3D model and used to fit a temporary smile. Guided by the client’s feedback on their temporary set coupled with the dentist’s expertise he can then prepare the veneers or crowns with the ceramic team in the 3D lab to craft the new bespoke shape. The new 3D model is created for the final veneers or crowns.
Tooth preparation ‘tooth saving’ techniques (not reduced to pins)
Keeping as much of the original tooth as possible, the dentist uses the latest ‘tooth saving’ minimal dental reshaping techniques, he then fits temporary veneers or crowns for the client to wear for a week or so.
This has major benefits, as it allows the client to have a wearer trail and test drive their new smile look and feel before making the final German Zirconia veneers or crowns, whilst maintaining the health of each tooth.
THIRD VISIT: NEW PERMANENT TEETH
The digital dentist removes the temporary crowns and fits the new permanent SMILE to reveal the new 3D DESIGNED SMILE MAKEOVER.
Not the new mid line has been created for centrally aligned teeth.

The Advantages Of Digital Crowns
Digital crowns are far superior to traditional crowns because:
- They are made to exact specifications so they fit better and last longer
- Conventional crowns were made of porcelain fused to metal (PFM), but digital crowns are made of zirconia or EMAX, materials superior in quality, durability, and aesthetic presentation
- Digital crowns look and feel more like natural teeth than traditional crowns
- The whole process is considerably shorter, taking days instead of weeks
- Several steps of the process are now unnecessary
- Possible distortion of the impression made for the crown through human error is now removed, therefore better fit and less chance of failure as the dentist has your digital 3D model to refer back to at anytime.
Step by Step Process:
- Dentists prepare the patient’s teeth for scans
- Dentists capture a series of digital images or videos using an intra-oral wand that is inserted into the patient’s mouth and moved around the treatment areas
- Digital impression software pieces the images or videos together within seconds and displays the impression image on a chairside screen
- As required, pre-prep teeth for crowns and use the 3D printed clear model for temporary bridge and visual indication of permanent crowns
- Dentists review the digital images and verify the accuracy of the scan
- The digital impressions are sent to the in-house dental laboratory where the patient’s restorations such as crowns, dentures, and bridges are created all using 3D technology.
